What to consider when looking for a new cigar distributor

For anyone searching for a new cigar distributors, with quite a few out there it can get a little bit confusing. After all, how are you supposed to know which distributor will be a good fit for you and which may be more trouble than they are worth?

Happily, there are a few things you can look for that will not only help you avoid cigar distributors that are not a good fit, but will also help you choose a company that may even drastically improve your cigar sales.

Look at distributors that have a wide selection -- Some companies have a large number of cigar brands they sell, while others deal with just a few. Some also stick with the same brands, while others add new ones all the time.

Does the distributor work closely with you? -- Some cigar distributors will simply take your order, ship your cigars and not have any more connection with you than that.

Others, however, will work with you on your order, recommend specific cigars for your particular customer demographic and advise against buying other cigars. These are the distributors you should be taking a closer look at, as they can often give you advice that will really help improve your sales.

Do they train your staff? -- Selling cigars is much more specialized than it may seem and, if you have well trained staff, you can often have higher sales.

A good cigar distributor will come to your store and train your staff so that they are familiar with all the details about the cigars you are selling.
